Christine Cronkhite Smith

Christine’s work utilizes both Plein Air, and original photographic images translated into painting. Her focus is to express emotion and concepts in impressionistic designs. She is a self-taught artist, who believes in studying with the best in order to grow. Art, for her, is a way to eliminate and transform the influences of difficult experiences through painting in nature.

After a successful career as a teacher and counselor, Christine’s interests have grown from using Pastel painting techniques to including the use of art as a therapeutic tool. She motivates and encourages others to find and translate life experiences into peaceful present moments.

Christine is a multi-media artist. She is already an award winning showing artist and is fully accepted member in the Indiana Pastel Society, Northern Indiana Artists, Inc., Buchanan Art Center and South Bend Museum of Art.
