Sanctuaries, Preserves and Easements what’s the difference?
A SWMLC sanctuary/preserve is owned by SWMLC and open to the public. You are encouraged to paint on these lands any time. Go to the SWMLC web site to see a complete listing of these locations.
A SWMLC easement is private property, closed to the public but managed by the Consevancy. PAAWM artists have been given special permission by the landowners to paint on their land for our scheduled paint outs. If you are interested in painting on easement land outside of a paint out, please contact the SWMLC first, they will contact the land owner and seek permission for you. PAAWM a wonderful opportunity to build lasting relationships with many landowners who have shown us tremendous hospitality. Please be respectful of their generosity and the land you have the priviledge to paint on.
