Brian is a representational/realist landscape painter working in oils. Hooked on plein air painting from an early age, he completes paintings in outdoor sessions and in the studio, using plein air studies as guides for larger works. Largely self-taught, he studied art at the Kalamazoo Art Institute, Western Michigan University, and the Chicago Art Institute Oxbow School.
About the Plein Air Artists of West Michigan, he says, “The opportunity for interacting with other artists sharing your passion for plein air painting is exciting. You get ideas, information and encouragement during these sessions.”
