“I love to paint in watercolor, although it can be awkward in the cold or wet or dry or hot or … any weather! Still, the delight in producing a picture I like can’t be beat. Plein air painting may be ‘the hard way’ to create good art, but painting from life somewhere ‘out there’ can be so satisfying. There is something wonderful about seeing a prosaic locale in a new light – literally – and trying to capture the feeling before the sun moves too far, and the scene changes again’.

The ancient poet Basho explains:

“With every gust of wind, the butterfly changes its place on the willow.”
